The problem with underestimating The Lizard, that little voice that convinces you to settle, is that too many of us understand its true goal, which is to end all progress.
The Lizard wants everything to remain exactly as it is, even the frustrating stuff, even that extra 10 lbs you’re carrying around.
You are a prisoner of your own thoughts, and you’re stuck.
There are two reasons why you are losing the battle to The Lizard. Maybe you don’t really know why you want to do make the changes you dream about. Maybe the reasons that motivate you are not clear. Maybe “because everyone else does” isn’t enough of a reason for you, and it shouldn’t be.
The second reason is that you’re likely stuck because you don’t know how to do it. Not knowing how to first understand the problem for what it is so that you can finally solve the issue is terrifying.
Slay the Lizard by doing these three things. Two of them are hard.
· Dream big. What is your inspiring vision of success? Begin with the end in mind and then work back from there. How do you want to work and where? For whom? How much is enough? It’s your life; write out what you want. How will you feel?
· Get real, and call yourself on your own nonsense. Quit telling yourself and other people stories, and get some help. You can’t do it all on your own so pay for a solution.
· Get moving. This stalling you’re doing is just the Lizard messing with your head.
Get started right now. You can email me here, email@example.com and I’ll be happy to tell you how we can help you. Or you can listen to the Lizard and look something up yourself later …
